The barriers surrounding the new Bradford mirror pool have finally been taken away. There is still some construction work continuing at the site, but the pool area itself, on the left of the picture seems to be finished, although there was no water in it when I took the picture. The water can apparently be drained into an underground storage tank so that the pool area can be used for outdoor concerts and other events.
I like the perspective you shot this from.
ReplyDeleteBradford Council should hang their heads in shame. How can they justify spending 24.5 million pounds on this huge "puddle". Go to Sheffield or Nottingham to see how to do a water feature in a city centre. Do they really think the people of Bradford really wanted this "park'? No we didn't. What we want is business, good quality shops and resteraunts and for the Council to get rid of the drug addicts that dominate the city centre and make the majority of local people stay well clear of the town centre. Get rid od that Dave Green and link up with Leeds Council so we can get dome expertise on the job. No more waste - please"
ReplyDeleteWait a couple of weeks when the chewing gum, litter and graffitti spoil the new paving around the pool. Doubt the Council will have built in 24/7 security!
ReplyDeleteBeen to visit Bradford today to look at the new "mirror pool". Oh dear. Is this really the best Bradford Council could come up with to get visitors/shoppers/tourists back into Bradford. I'm afraid guys it's back to the drawing board, my family and I won`t be coming back. It looks like Bradford city centre really is dead on its feet. What a shame!
